Whenever I try to open Garageband, the box with 'initializing' appears for a few seconds before an error saying 'Garageband quit unexpectedly'. I've tried running the disc utility and repairing disc permissions, I've tried deleting preference files, I've re-installed Garageband from the disc, I've tried using time machine to restore the program (and preferences) from an earlier date and I've run a preference checker program. Nothing has helped so far.
It happened when I installed some audio programs that were bundled with my audio interface (Melodyne Essential is one I can remember, but I can't find the disc to check the others). I've uninstalled these, but the only thing I can relate the problem to is the time when I installed these. I'm not exactly sure, but it worked earlier today, then a good while after I installed them, then a good few hours after I tried to open Garageband and it wouldn't work.
What should I try next? Thanks for any help.
